1. Introduction
PdfEngine (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the App”) is a mobile PDF toolkit that lets you create, convert, edit, secure, and manage PDF documents on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, how it is used, and your choices.
By using PdfEngine, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Who we are
PdfEngine is published as a mobile application under the package name com.pdfme.pdfeditor. For privacy questions, contact us at gupta.dhananjay59@gmail.com.
3. Information we process
PdfEngine does not require you to create an account and does not operate a first-party cloud that stores your PDF files.
Documents and files you choose
- PDF and image files you select, scan, import, or generate in the App
- These files are processed on your device for tools such as merge, split, compress, protect, convert, OCR, watermark, signature, organize, and related features
- Output files and a local history of saved results may be stored in the App’s private storage on your device
- If you choose to save or share files (for example to Downloads, gallery, or another app), that action is under your control
Local app preferences
- Theme preference (light/dark)
- Local file history metadata (such as filename, path, size, timestamp, and favorite status)
Camera and photos
- Camera access may be used for Scan to PDF
- Gallery / photo access may be used to pick images or save images you export
- Captured or selected images remain on your device unless you share them yourself
Translate feature (network)
- If you use PDF Translate, the App extracts text from your PDF on-device and sends that text content to Google Translate services to obtain a translation
- The PDF file itself is not uploaded to our servers for translation; however, the extracted text leaves your device during this feature
- Do not use Translate on documents you are not willing to transmit for translation
Advertising (Android)
- On Android, the App may show ads through Google AdMob
- Google may collect device and advertising identifiers (such as Advertising ID), IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device/app information, and ad interaction data as described in Google’s policies
- Ad networks do not receive your PDF files from PdfEngine for ad serving
Fonts and library downloads
- The App may download font files (for example via Google Fonts) to display the interface
- On-device OCR may download recognition models needed for offline text recognition
- These downloads do not include your PDF documents
Information we do not collect as a first party
- No user account registration
- No first-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK currently used by PdfEngine
- No upload of your PDF files to PdfEngine-operated servers
4. How we use information
- To provide PDF tools and store results locally on your device
- To remember preferences and local history
- To enable optional features you request (camera scan, translate, share/export)
- To display advertisements on Android via Google AdMob
- To respond to support emails you send us
5. AI Copilot and OCR
PdfEngine’s AI Copilot is a rule-based, on-device assistant. It can extract text from a PDF you attach and perform local actions (such as compress, protect, or summarize heuristics). It does not send your PDFs or chat to an external large language model operated by us.
OCR uses on-device machine learning (Google ML Kit) to recognize text from rendered pages.
6. Third-party services
Depending on features you use, the following third parties may process data:
- Google AdMob — advertising on Android
- Google Translate — text translation when you use Translate
- Google Fonts / ML Kit — fonts and on-device recognition models as needed
- System share sheets and apps you choose when exporting files

7. Data retention and deletion
- Generated files and history remain on your device until you delete them
- You can clear App storage/history from Settings (Clear All Data / clear storage), or by uninstalling the App
- Uninstalling removes App-private data; files you previously exported to Downloads, gallery, or other apps may remain until you delete them there
- Support emails you send are retained only as needed to respond and for ordinary business records
8. Children’s privacy
PdfEngine is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support channels, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.
9. Security
We design the App so PDF processing happens on-device where possible. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for safeguarding device access and for content you choose to share or translate.
10. Your choices and rights
- Deny camera or photo permissions in system settings (some features will not work)
- Avoid the Translate feature if you do not want document text sent to Google
- Reset or limit advertising ID / ad personalization in your device settings (Android)
- Clear local history/files in the App or uninstall
- Contact us to ask privacy-related questions

11. International processing
When you use Translate or view ads, third parties such as Google may process data in countries other than your own, subject to their policies and applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
